Urbanology is interdiscipoinary, integrating urgan geography, urban ecology, urban economics, urban sociology, urban governance, and other related disciplines. It focus on the development path of cities, the feature and momentum of urbanization.

The Institute is specialized in the research related to the historical experiences and future development trend of international metropolitans, the path, goals and modes of urbanization in China, maxist urbanology theory, urban morphology, environment, geography, ecology, social structure and among others.
