【Abstract】 Commuting life-style is one of the fundamental characters of suburbanization.In late 18th century and early 19th century,many London citizens began to adopt commuting life-style,that is to say,they began to work in the city centre,to live in the suburbs,and to go to and fro between the residence and workplace.The scholars’ statistical investigation and the original records of that time provided proofs for this phenomenon,and the appearance and generalization of commuting life-style indicated that modern suburbanization originated from London.
