【Abstract】The modern transportation construction in London can be approximately divided into three stages(the embryonic stage,the growth stage and the mature stage),which shows the three-dimensional characteristic,new technological utilization,rational distribution,ordered management,and’welfare’feature.It is a very important practical meaning for the construction of Chinese modern cities that London’s historical experiences of urban transport construction in the integration of city space,distribution of industries,migration of population,suburban expansion,and government management fully revealed the development of modern cities is closely related with the transportation construction.
