A Research on Housing Problems of Peasant- Workers in the Process of Urbanization

Abstract: A large number of peasant- workers' housing exists problems of overcrowded、bad environment and separated housing, etc., which is not useful for accumulating capital、obtaining information and getting a chance to go into the mainstream of city life, and hardens social segmentation and polarization between the rich and the poor. Firstly, on the basis of reviewing theories and takeing the micro data of Hangzhou city for example, this study investigates the present housing situation and need of peasant-s, founding that the bad living environment huddled the increase of their labor production which has negative effects on economic growth. Secondly, from the angle of the law of social development, system reason, peasant workers group characteristics, this study explores related factors affecting housing supply capacity and living environment quality of peasant-s' ghetto. Furthermore, in terms of peasant-s' housing problem, it discusses how to implement the main responsibility, moderate parties contradictions and bring forward feasible solution, thus resolving the peasant-s' housing problem step by step and realizing the people-centered economic sustainable growth and social integration as soon as possible.
